Who we are
This privacy policy applies to UK Online Signs (the trading name of Wootton Industries Limited, UK Company Number 5517933, registered at Stonecroft, Holme Hall Lane, Stainton, S66 7RD). We are the data controller for any personal data collected via this website.
What data we collect
We collect the minimum personal data needed to process your order and send it to you:
- Name and delivery address — to send your order to the right place
- Email address — to send order confirmation, dispatch notification and any necessary communication about your order
- Phone number (optional) — only if you provide one for the courier to contact you about delivery
- Order details — the items you ordered, when, and for how much
We do not collect or store your card details. Payment is handled entirely by PayPal — your card number, security code and bank details never touch our servers. See PayPal's own privacy policy for how they handle payment data.
How we use your data
We use your personal data only to:
- Process and dispatch your order
- Reply to enquiries you send us
- Comply with our legal obligations (HMRC, etc.)
- Handle returns, refunds and warranty claims
We do not send marketing emails. We do not maintain a mailing list. We do not profile, track or advertise to you.
Who we share your data with
We share your data only with the third parties strictly necessary to fulfil your order:
- PayPal — handles your payment and shares the delivery address with us
- Royal Mail and our chosen couriers — receive your delivery address and (if provided) phone number to deliver your parcel
- HMRC and other lawful authorities — only if legally required
We do not sell your data, share it with marketing companies, or give it to anyone else outside Wootton Industries Limited.
How long we keep your data
We keep order records for 6 years after the date of the order, as required by HMRC for business record-keeping. After that, your personal data is securely deleted.
Enquiry emails (where no order was placed) are kept for up to 12 months, then deleted.
Your rights under UK GDPR
You have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Correct any data that's inaccurate
- Request deletion of your data (subject to our legal obligation to retain order records)
- Object to processing of your data
- Request a copy of your data in a portable format
- Complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk) if you believe we've mishandled your data

Cookies and browser storage
We use a small amount of essential browser storage (technically called localStorage) to remember the items in your basket as you browse the site. We do not use cookies for tracking, advertising or analytics. See our Cookies Policy for full details.

This website is served over HTTPS. Payment data is handled by PayPal under their own PCI-DSS compliant systems. Order data is stored on secure systems with restricted access.
